What is included?

All SD ASSIST packages include these core services. Coverage limits vary by package.

Breakdown cover & towing

Breakdown cover across Europe (EU countries excluding Malta and the Republic of Cyprus + Switzerland + Norway) + the Balkan countries + all of Turkey (81 provinces) + Northern Cyprus; transport to an authorised garage.

Accommodation

If your vehicle cannot be repaired the same day, SD ASSIST covers hotel costs for you and your passengers.

Max. €50/person/night, max. 5 nights

Replacement vehicle

While your vehicle is being repaired, you can use a replacement vehicle or receive a daily allowance.

Max. 5 days and max. €50/day

Vehicle and Passenger Return

If your vehicle cannot be repaired within 21 working days, SD ASSIST arranges the return of your vehicle and passengers.

What's Not Included?

Transparency is our priority. The following situations fall outside the scope of all packages.

Breakdowns or damage existing or reported before the policy start date
Racing, rallying, speed trials or off-road use
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or without a valid licence
Cost of fuel, oil, spare parts, repair materials, labour and diagnostics
Indirect losses and loss of profit arising from commercial freight transport
Events caused by natural disasters, war, terrorism, strikes and riots
Events occurring outside the geographic limits stated in the policy
Events occurring before the 5-day (120-hour) waiting period has elapsed
Recurring faults caused by lack of regular maintenance
Vehicles over 3,500 kg (cannot be brought into cover even for an additional premium)

When Does Your Cover Start?

Your SD ASSIST policy takes effect 5 days (120 hours) after your payment is confirmed. This waiting period is standard across the industry and prevents existing breakdowns from being covered retroactively.

Your membership is confirmed; your policy arrives as a PDF in your inbox straight away (within 24 hours at the latest).

5-Day Waiting Period

The waiting period starts the moment your payment is confirmed; the 120-hour activation process runs. (With Immediate Start, cover begins 24 hours after your payment is confirmed.)

Cover Active

At the end of day 5, 24/7 breakdown cover is fully active.

The policy does not apply to an existing breakdown before the waiting period ends.
